Daily journalist moves to new national role covering the same region

Callum ParkeA regional daily journalist has taken up a new national role covering the region where he is based.

Callum Parke has announced his departure from the Derby Telegraph to join PA as its East Midlands reporter.

Callum, pictured, began his career with the Telegraph on a part-time basis in May 2021 while he was still completing his MA degree in news journalism at Nottingham Trent University.

He went full-time August of the same year after hanfing in his dissertation.

Callum has thanked both Natalie and Fahy and Sam Dimmer, who were his editors during his time in Derby, after working his last shift on Christmas Day.

He told HTFP: “I had a brilliant 18 months at the Derby Telegraph and I am grateful to both Natalie Fahy and Sam Dimmer for the opportunity, and the brilliant colleagues I had while I was there for all their advice and support.

“I’m now really looking forward to a new challenge across the East Midlands as a whole and have already learned a lot in my first week in the role.”

Callum began his new role with PA on 3 January.
