Award-winning journalist leaves weekly for new hometown job

Adam BarkerA regional publisher’s Trainee Journalist of the Year has announced he is leaving for a new job in his hometown.

Adam Barker has confirmed his departure from the Peterborough Telegraph, where he has worked for 14 months, to join Newsquest in Norwich.

During his time with the Telegraph, Adam won the prize at National World’s Editorial Excellence Awards in October.

The Norwich native worked his last day at the Telegraph on Friday.

Adam, pictured, told HTFP: “I enjoyed my time at the Peterborough Telegraph.

“In my year at the PT I gained valuable experience covering a range of stories, meeting and working alongside some great people along the way.

“I’m now looking forward to starting a new role as a trainee journalist at Newsquest in Norwich.”
