Australian shares ambition to be ‘face’ of Welsh weekly

An Australian newspaper staffer has shared her desire to be the “face” of a Welsh weekly after moving across the world.

Kirsty Boag has joined the Brecon & Radnor Express after emigrating with her family from Adelaide.

Kirsty, pictured, previously worked in sales and media for Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp, owner of some of the biggest newspapers in Australia.

However, her move to Brecon sparked an ambition to work at a community paper in a public-facing sales role.

She said: “I worked for huge newspaper corporations back home, so wanted to work for a smaller newspaper here. One morning I found this job and applied straight away.

“It was on my bucket list. I was happy when I found it. I really do want people to be able to see me.

“I want people to speak to me about an ad, or tell me about an anniversary coming up.

“I think it’s important that there is a face of the Brecon & Radnor Express, and that they can approach me.”
