Regional dailies have continued to mark the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the accession of her son King Charles III with a series of special editions and commemorative front pages.
The procession carrying The Queen’s coffin left Balmoral Castle, in Aberdeenshire, yesterday following her death at the palace on Thursday.
Its journey to Edinburgh, where it remained at her official residence in Scotland at Holyrood House yesterday, has been marked with special editions of Scottish dailies this morning – a number of which ran front page wraparounds to commemorate what The Scotsman dubbed ‘Scotland’s farewell’.
Across England and Wales, regional press titles have also splashed on local proclamations of the new king, while a special 24-page supplement has also appeared in all National World dailies today.
Among Welsh titles, there has been a particular focus on Prince William being made the new Prince of Wales, a move first announced by the new King in his broadcast to the nation on Friday evening.
Below is a gallery of some of the front pages that have been published this morning.
