Publisher’s stranded football reporter finally arrives at job after four days

Rahman Osman 2022A journalist who endured six cancelled flights and three nights stuck in Turkey by snowstorms has finally reached his destination.

HTFP reported on Tuesday how JPIMedia sports journalist Rahman Osman was left stranded in Istanbul while on his way to Cameroon to report on the Africa Cup of Nations for the regional publisher.

Rahman, pictured, ended up sleeping in Istanbul airport after he became “some sort of leader” for those in the same situation as him.

But yesterday he confirmed his arrival in Cameroon, four days after he set off from London.

Rahman, who writes for titles including JPI’s city ‘World’ series and the NationalWorld website, posted on Twitter: “After six cancelled flights, three nights in Istanbul and a snowstorm memory of a lifetime, I’ve touched down in mighty Cameroon for the business end of AFCON 2021.”

In an accompanying video, he said: “This is when the Africa Cup of Nations begins for me.

“So I’m taking all of you with me to Cameroon, where we will keep an eye on every African player playing in the Premier League, Scottish league or playing his football in any part of Britain.”
