Independent publisher appoints new managing director

Scott Wood 2021An independent publisher has announced the appointment of its new managing director.

Tindle Newspapers Limited has unveiled Scott Wood as MD after almost a year-and-a-half serving as group publishing director.

Scott, pictured, spent 13 years as a regional executive director at Tindle prior to that.

He takes on his new role with immediate effect.

Scott said: “I am delighted to become managing director at a time when Tindle is evolving to engage with readers and advertisers across a compelling portfolio of digital platforms and trusted print titles.

“As a publisher with staff based firmly at the heart of our communities, we provide the perfect solution in each local market, whether it be through print, online or social.

“There has never been a greater thirst for local news and at Tindle Newspapers we are developing modern and relevant offerings based on our traditional strengths of staying connected, being involved, caring about, and participating in local communities.”

Tindle group chairman Owen Tindle added: “I am delighted that Scott has been appointed managing director.

“Scott knows our business and has already demonstrated how to build upon its rich heritage of all things local.

“We are evolving to meet the changing needs of our customers and Scott’s leadership role is one of a number of appointments that supports our strategy of sustaining local journalism in the markets we serve.”

Danny Cammiade remains as chief executive of Tindle Newspapers following Scott’s promotion.
