Data chief becomes latest Archant executive departure

Adam coleA data chief is the latest executive to leave Archant following its takeover by Newsquest.

The regional publisher has announced Adam Cole, executive director of data and insight, will leave the business at the end of September.

Adam, pictured, has spent 13 years with Archant, having started out as a telesales advisor.

Since Newsquest’s takeover of the Norwich-based publisher, a host of senior managers including chief executive Lorna Willis, editor in chief Jeremy Clifford, chief finance officer Nick Steven-Jones, magazines managing director Jonathan Cropley and product & platform director Ryan Cousins have left the business.

Adam’s departure was announced in a message to staff from Newsquest digital transformation director Morgan Stevenson, to whom Archant’s data and insight team will now report.

In the message, which has been seen by HTFP, Adam said: “If you had told me 13 years ago when I joined the classified telesales team in Norwich that I would one day have the privilege of being appointed to the senior leadership team and a member of the executive I would have thought you were mad.

“The last decade has seen some huge changes for Archant and the publishing industry and I am very proud of the work that I and my team have done in evolving Archant into a truly data-informed business.”

Morgan added: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Adam for all his hard work over many years at Archant.

“I am sure you will join me in thanking him and wishing him all the best for the future.”

Newsquest has declined to comment further on Adam’s departure.
