Daily marks two years since lockdown with special report

A regional daily marked two years since the start of the first coronavirus lockdown with a special edition.

The Hull Daily Mail ran the edition on Wednesday to commemorate the Covid-19 milestone in the UK.

The Mail’s special aimed to take a look at how Hull “suffered, coped and is now recovering”.

It featured sections dedicated to families, nurses and victims claimed by the illness.

The Mail also revisited people in the city who it first spoke to on their doorsteps in May 2020.

The latest coverage comes after the Mail last year launched a campaign to change its patch’s “poor” coronavirus vaccination rate.

And in January this year, its front page was turned black after the thousandth death as a result of the illness was recorded in the city.
