Business journalism awards launched with focus on UK’s regions

Lionel BarberAn annual awards scheme honouring outstanding achievement in the fields of business, economic and financial journalism has launched with a focus on getting more entries from the UK’s regions.

The Wincott Awards are now open for submissions, with organisers encouraging journalists covering “all the nations and regions of the UK” to enter.

Seven awards are up for grabs, including a specific ‘Journalist of the Year, UK Nations and Regions’ category.

The winner of the award will also receive a £2,000 prize.

Wincott chairman Lionel Barber, pictured, said: “The Wincott judges will be looking to recognise outstanding, original examples of UK business journalism in print, online, radio, TV and video.

“We want to hear from all corners of the UK.”
