A retired journalist and his actress wife have celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.
John Parry, who used to work for Brighton daily The Argus, has marked 60 years of marriage to Judy Cornwell.
Judy is best known for her roles as Daisy in Keeping Up Appearances and Anya in Santa Claus: The Movie, as well as playing Miss Marple on stage.
The pair met after John was sent to review a play for The Argus in which Judy was starring at Brighton’s Palace Pier.

John, 84, told The Argus: “Rather like how I felt about the girl on the stage, I wrote a favourable review.
“Shortly afterwards I went to knock on her dressing room door, and here we are 60 years later.”
The couple celebrated the anniversary on 18 December, although their plans for a party have been shelved due to coronavirus.
Judy, 80, said: “We were so looking forward to having a party, but we ended up eating stuffed partridges in the kitchen. It was still lovely though.”
