Regional business journalists’ TV show gets second series

A television programme run by regional business journalists has been commissioned for a second series.

Shropshire Business Live TV, a monthly magazine-style show which is live streamed at the end of each month, has been backed after an initial 10-episode first run.

The programme is streamed on the channel’s own website and is produced by independent news websites Shropshire Business and Shropshire Live, along with event management company Yarrington.

It is hosted by Shropshire Business editor Carl Jones, who was previously business editor and assistant editor at the Shropshire Star.

Carl said: “With face-to-face interaction severely limited last year, we were all looking for new and innovative ways to get our messages across.

“We felt this would be a fresh and creative way for the business community to stay connected, informed, and hopefully entertained too, and it has definitely found a loyal audience.

“We’re delighted with how the first series has been received. Viewer numbers have grown episode-by-episode, and although it is predominantly watched by West Midlands-based viewers, we have also attracted interest from as far afield as the USA, and across Europe.”
