Regional titles have been invited to submit entries for this year’s newsawards.

The annual awards honour publications operating at hyperlocal, regional national and international level.

Prizes on offer include Regional Daily Newspaper of the Year, Weekly Newspaper of the Year and Regional Supplement/Magazine of the Year.

Two awards run in association with the Independent Community News Network are also up for grabs – Independent Community Newspaper of the Year and Independent Community Website of the Year.

The deadline for entries, which can be submitted free of charge, is 16 August 2021.

Winners will be announced on 11 November at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel in front of around 450 industry sponsors and guests.

Gary Cullum, pictured, director of newsawards, said: “At the moment newsawards appears to be the only ‘live’ event planned for the news media industry in 2021.

“We’re planning an evening that will give all of our guests the opportunity to celebrate excellence and to hopefully put the pandemic behind them and look forward to future successes.”
