New city news website launches bid to ‘level up’ patch

A new city news website has launched a campaign that aims to “level up” its patch.

Bristol World, which went live last month, wants new readers to back its ‘Level Up Bristol’ bid.

The campaign aims to “shine the spotlight on inequality” across Bristol and highlight the work of community groups across the city.

A channel dedicated to the campaign has also been set up on the site.

An editorial announcing the campaign’s launch reads: “Our aim is to shine the spotlight on inequality in our city and to connect people and organisations to ending poverty, improve health and education and see investment in all neighbourhoods.

“Throughout the next few months we will be highlighting the work of community groups, like the Square Food Foundation, and providing a voice to those who need our help.

“With millions of pounds allocated to tackle the issue, we will also be following where the money has gone and holding those in power to account.

“Please show the campaign your support by reading and sharing our content.

“Because together, we can make our city even better, for everyone.”

Bristol World is one of seven city-based news sites to have been launched by JPIMedia in recent months.
