Local democracy reporter leaves daily to take up newsdesk role

Kit SandemanA local democracy reporter has left his role to take up a newsdesk post with a regional news website.

Kit Sandeman, who works for the BBC and Nottingham Post under the scheme, has joined Lincolnshire Live.

Kit, pictured, will serve as content editor at the Reach plc-owned title.

The Post is now recruiting for a replacement LDR.

Speaking to HTFP, Kit said: “It’s been a privilege working at the Post, first as a general reporter and then as the local democracy reporter for Nottinghamshire, while based at their offices.

“It’s not been a quiet time on a busy patch, both in terms of news and politics, and I’ve had fantastic support, both from the LDR system itself and the whole Nottinghamshire Live team.

“Together we’ve challenged leaders who’ve tried to keep us out of meetings, broken national exclusives about the introduction of the Tiers system, and covered the collapse of a council-owned energy company through a series of countless leaks.

“I’d encourage people to apply for that vacancy, which is now open.

“I’m delighted to have started as the content editor of Lincolnshire Live with a young and talented team, and am looking forward to breaking more memorable stories in the future.”
