A business journalist has shared his pride in the regional daily he works for after winning a national award.

Greg Wright has praised his colleagues at the Yorkshire Post after winning Local/Regional Journalist of the Year at the 2021 Headlinemoney Awards.

It is the 17th personal award that Greg, who is the Post’s deputy business editor, has won during his career.

BBC Birmingham’s Jonathan Gibson was highly commended in the category.

Greg, pictured, told HTFP: “I’m thrilled and honoured to receive this award. I dedicate it to all my great colleagues on the Yorkshire Post.

“The last 18 months have been incredibly tough for so many people in our industry, but I’ve never felt prouder to work for the Yorkshire Post.

“My entry focused on two major controversies – the loan charge and mortgage prisoners.

“In both of these scandals honest, hard-working people have been driven to despair by failures in Government policy.”
