Independent publisher takes on specialist charities reporter

Imogen JamesAn independent publisher has appointed its first live events and charities reporter.

Highland News and Media has recruited Imogen James to help publicise the work of charities and their supporters “as they rally from being hit hard by the pandemic”.

Imogen, pictured, will work for the bi-weekly Inverness Courier and weekly titles the Highland News, North Star, Ross-shire Journal and Strathspey and Badenoch Herald.

The 21-year-old is a recent English literature graduate from the University of Glasgow, where she was involved in student journalism.

She comes from Drumnadrochit, on the western shore of Loch Ness.

Imogen said: “I am so excited to be working in my home town and to give back to the local community.

“I have always wanted to be a writer and I am passionate about using my voice to help others, which is why this role was the perfect opportunity.

“I’d like to thank HNM for giving me this chance and I look forward to working with everyone.”
