Awards return to physical ceremony as journalists urged to enter

Lucy OwenAn annual journalism awards ceremony is welcoming entries after revealing it is set to resume as a physical ceremony.

The Journalists’ Charity Wales Media Awards 2022 are now open for entries after the delayed 2020 honours were handed out in an online ceremony in May.

Work which appeared between 1 October 2020 and 30 September 2021 is being sought, while work published or broadcast between 1 March 2020 and 30 September 2021 relating to the coronavirus pandemic only will also be accepted.

The closing date for entries is Friday 12 November.

The free-to-enter awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff on 25 March 2022.

The ceremony will be hosted by BBC Cymru Wales presenter Lucy Owen, pictured, and ITV Cymru Wales’ Jonathan Hill.
