An independent publisher has promoted a regional managing director to a new group-wide publishing role.

Tindle Newspapers has unveiled Scott Wood, pictured, as its new group publishing director.

Scott was previously the company’s regional MD for the South-East of England and group operations director.

He first worked for Tindle in June 1991.

Company chairman Owen Tindle said: “I am delighted that Scott has accepted this important role with the group, which reflects both his importance to the company and his hard work in ensuring that we have come through this unique economic period with our portfolio of paid-for newspapers well positioned to serve the communities for many more years to come.

“I congratulate Scott and all the team for their hard work.”

The impact of the coronavirus crisis has seen Tindle close both the Glamorgan Gem and County Border News in recent weeks.
