A regional daily’s headquarters for the past 23 years has gone up for sale on a property website.

The Southern Daily Echo’s Newspaper House home, pictured, is currently listed on Zoopla.

The Echo has been based at the office, in the Redbridge area of Southampton, since 1997.

It sits close to the M271 motorway and is described as being in a “strategic location” on Zoopla, with the potential for refurbishment or redevelopment potential.

A description on the site adds: “This building was part of a bespoke development for Newsquest around 20 years ago which included the print works to the north of the subject building.

“The building has a large open plan office area at ground level with two-storey cellular offices around the north and west sides.”

HTFP has approached Daily Echo owner Newsquest for a comment on the proposed sale.
