Chris_Kelsey_400x400A former daily journalist has taken up a full-time editor role with a business publication.

Chris Kelsey, who was deputy business editor of the Western Mail and Wales Online, has been confirmed in the post at Business News Wales.

Chris, pictured, had worked for the title on a consultancy basis since November 2018, having left the Reach plc sister titles that April after 13 years of service.

Business News Wales says he brings a new editorial structure to the business, which will also include a forward features calendar.

Managing director Mark Powney said: “It’s a very exciting time in the content market as the news industry continues to develop.

“It’s been a fascinating few months analysing our audience and what is clear is that news reading habits are changing at a faster rate than many are predicting.

“Demand for our in-house content and editorial support service for clients has increased ten-fold and it’s imperative we have a facility to support customers.

“The launch of our sections demonstrates our commitment to the business community in Wales and is a natural evolution following the business’ transformation and scale up over the last 12 months.”

Chris added: “The news industry has developed at a fast rate over the last decade and continues to do so.

“The new editorial calendar and services we are launching at Business News Wales fits with what the industry is demanding and I am looking forward to growing our news coverage over the coming months.”
