A regional daily is launching a new email newsletter which aims to go “behind the headlines” of the court cases it covers.

The Liverpool Echo has announced the launch of Echo Court Files, which will be published weekly by court reporters Neil Docking and Lauren Wise.

Neil and Lauren will discuss the biggest cases each week and give subscribers a sense of the atmosphere in court.

The Echo describes the newsletter as a be a “fascinating behind the scenes glimpse into the life of the legal system, packed with details and anecdotes you rarely see in our news reports”.

Neil, pictured, said: “Life at Liverpool Crown Court is always interesting and no two weeks are the same.

“Through this newsletter, Lauren and I hope to provide valuable insight into the workings of the criminal justice system in these unprecedented times.”

Lauren added: “Cases in the lower courts can seem run-of-the-mill at a first glance, but there is always more to it than meets the eye and in our newsletter you’ll get the full picture on day-to-day proceedings.”
