A regional business news website has appointed a new journalist as its editor expands his brief.

TheBusinessDesk.com has announced that Sam Metcalf, who edits its East Midlands site, will additionally cover the West Midlands as its Midlands editor.

TheBusinessDesk has also revealed the appointment of experienced business journalist Ian Evans who will cover the East Midlands.

Sam, pictured, joined the company in 2016, having previously edited rival publications East Midlands Business Link of Midlands Business Insider.

He said: “It’s great to have Ian on board as we begin to step up our news and events across the East Midlands.

“Ian is well-known in the region and I’m looking forward to working alongside him to expand TheBusinessDesk.com in across both the East and West Midlands.

“Over the past year we have introduced the Leadership Awards in both the East and West Midlands and the Business Masters in the East.

“The events, along with our regular lunch events are engaging the business community across the entire region and we look forward to further increasing this over the coming months.”
