More than 170 make shortlist for annual media awards

LlewelaMore than 170 contenders are in the running for this year’s Midlands Media Awards to be held next month.

The shortlist for this year’s awards has been revealed, with nominees coming from as far as North Staffordshire, Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire and Herefordshire.

The annual awards are organised by Birmingham Press Club, and this year’s ceremony will be held at the Holte Suite, Villa Park, Birmingham, on the evening of Friday 15 November.

More than 30 senior journalists and ex-journalists were involved in the judging process.

Press Club chairman Llewela Bailey, pictured, said: “We have had another tremendous response this year and we are truly grateful to each and every entrant.

“The judges have had a really tough job – they have managed to whittle the enormous number of entries down to these nominees, now we must wait until 15 November to find out who has won.”
