Regional titles help NHS Trust mark 70 years of service

Two regional sister titles have answered a plea by its local NHS Trust to help celebrate the service’s 70th anniversary.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust had called on local businesses to donate gifts for goodie bags which will be presented to people taking part in a charity fun run to mark the occasion.

Independent publisher the Midland News Association has come forward to offer 500 copies of the Shropshire Star for the bags, which will be handed out after the run on 7 July.

The MNA has also offered copies of recently launched news magazine Shropshire Weekly.

Julia Clarke, director of corporate governance at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Shropshire Star for their support, and I would like to thank them for their very generous donation.

“The support of businesses like the Shropshire is so important for our hospitals, as it benefits our patients and our staff.”

The 5km fun run will start at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital at 10.30am on 7 July.
