Journalist to jump from 10,000 feet in aid of hospice on patch

A weekly newspaper reporter is set to jump from heights of up to 10,000 feet in a bid to raise cash for a hospice on his patch.

Bromsgrove Advertiser journalist Tom Davis is hoping to raise almost £400 when he takes part in a skydive for Primrose Hospice, which is based in the Worcestershire town.

Tom, 25, will be part of a team of 15 taking part in the hospice’s annual ‘Parachute for Primrose’ jump on 23 September.

The jump will see him reach speeds of up to 120 miles per hour while freefalling.

Said Tom: “Instead of just writing about all the brilliant fundraisers who raise so much money, I thought I would sign up this year and try and raise some cash as well.

“The hospice does such wonderful work providing advice and support to people with life-limiting illnesses and their families across Bromsgrove and Redditch.

“It relies on donations to keep their services free, so every bit raised makes a huge difference. I’m feeling okay about the jump at the minute but I’m sure that will change on the day.

“A record number of people have signed up this year as well which is brilliant, so I’m sure we’ll all help each other through it.”
