A county-wide website launched six years ago by a family-owned news agency has undergone a revamp.
Chesworth Press, which has now rebranded itself as Chesworth Communications, has announced the relaunch of Cumbria24.com, with a focus on high quality images and mobile design.
The relaunch and rebrand come as Chesworth, established by journalists Maurice Chesworth and Karen Morley-Chesworth in 1994, have announced their daughter Katie has joined the family partnership.
Cumbria24 was launched in November 2011, two years after the launch of news magazine the Eden Valley Messenger by Chesworth.
Katie, who has just completed her law degrees at Manchester Metropolitan University said: “The rebranding of the agency reflects the expansion of our business services. When the business was founded, it provided traditional news gathering, focusing on reporting and photographic services.
“As the media industry has changes, so has our business – developing media training, web and social media content services.”
She added: “The rebranding of Cumbria24 with its focus on high quality images and excellent mobile design, provides great content for people who love visiting Cumbria as well as enjoy living here.
“We have created an online community for ‘Cumbria-philes’ and encourage people in Cumbria to share their favourite places to visit, activities to enjoy and recommendations for great trips out.
“The new fresh looking Cumbria24 will take the authenticity of blogging with great guest writers, combine this with news updates and a platform for followers to share their views, photos and videos of Cumbria.”
