New radio show covering sister weeklies’ stories launches

Greg LambertA newspaper journalist has begun hosting a regular radio show covering stories featured in two sister weeklies.

Greg Lambert, left, content editor at the Lancaster Guardian and Morecambe paper The Visitor, presents the programme every Tuesday night on community station Beyond Radio.

The show, which is called ‘The Resident’ and began on 16 August, features music, chat, guests and local issues covered in the newspapers.

Greg has past experience on the airwaves, having hosted a programme on Diversity FM, the previous community radio station in Lancaster.

He told HTFP: “When Beyond Radio launched in Lancaster earlier this month, I saw it as an opportunity to return to the radio and also promote The Visitor and the Lancaster Guardian.

“The idea behind The Resident is to provide an entertaining and informative radio show with the emphasis on talking about our local area, its people, businesses and issues.

“Each week on the show I go through the main stories in the papers, usually with a studio guest. The show also features music, a local quiz, interviews and chat about what’s happening in the Lancaster and Morecambe district.”

Greg added: “Beyond Radio is completely run by volunteers and the team behind the station do a fantastic job, in their own time, working round the clock to provide a superb service to the people of our area.”

Greg’s show can be heard on Tuesday nights from 6pm on 103.5FM in the Lancaster and Morecambe area.
