Journalist left unconvinced after ghost hunting experience

susie-beeverA ghost-hunting journalist says she remains sceptical of the paranormal after spending an evening in a ‘haunted’ mill.

Huddersfield Daily Examiner breaking news reporter Susie Beever, left, joined mediums in searching for ghosts at Springfield Mills, in Denby Dale, Yorkshire.

Susie was part of a party of 30 in the ghost hunt, held in aid of Huddersfield’s Kirkwood Hospice.

She reported on her experience, in which those involved claimed to make contact with two spirits, in a piece for the Examiner.

However, Susie told HTFP: “I don’t believe in ghosts or the supernatural, but I’m very open-minded and was interested to see if anything would happen.

“I did spend the entire evening standing and watching as the cynical reporter, although I was glad to see my scepticism didn’t curb the enthusiasm of the residents who had come along.

“Although the mills were a suitably creepy location for a ghost hunt, I can’t say I felt much that proved me wrong.”

    “Breaking news” reporter?
goodness me,has the regional press actually come to this?
a non news story making the news and covered by the “Breaking news” reporter
if this is the level of breaking news thats happening in Huddersfield and beyond then the end of regional papers is closer than i thought

Disappointing she didn’t get spooked as the headline would have been

‘Ghoulies put the willies up Beever’

Presumably at some agreed passage of time, after the news has finished breaking, Susie passes the story down the chain to the ‘broken news’ reporter and then onwards to the ‘old news’ reporter?

I’m guessing that actually documenting a ghost would be breaking news, but seeing as they don’t exist, wouldn’t this reporter be better off checking for RTCs, fires or other incidents?
