New role for daily's former business editor

Nick JacksonA regional daily’s former business editor has taken up a new role with a commerce websites network.

Nick Jackson, who spent around 30 years with The Bolton News and its sister titles, has taken up the position of deputy editor with in the North West.

Nick, pictured left, had held the position  of editor of The News’s business section for 14 months.

Prior to his time there he had worked on the sports desk at the nearby Bury Times.

According to Manchester-based media website Prolific North, Nick will mainly be working on property, regeneration, private companies and general business news as well as providing back-up for North West editor Chris Barry.

Nick takes over the role from James Graham, who has left to take up a job at BBC Radio 5 Live.

Said Nick: “I am already enjoying being part of a great team here.

“Manchester and the North West is a fertile ground for business news and activity and I am aiming to help TBD to continue to capitalise on that.”
