A journalism student has won a week’s work experience at a national newspaper after gaining the best NCTJ results in his year.
The NCTJ award was presented to him as part of the university’s 2015 Journalism Awards, where journalism students were praised for exceptional work during the academic year.
Other awards celebrated the skills of those on the BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism degree course, including news reporter of the year, best feature writer and blogger of the year.
Senior journalism lecturer Paul Bailey said: “These awards recognise the hard work and excellent calibre of our current journalism students. And Jamie was the exceptional candidate for the NCTJ award.
“I would like to thank the NCTJ and all of the media organisations who generously contributed prizes to this celebration of our students’ achievements.”
