'Fantastic' front page wins HTFP readers poll

A¬†wraparound splash featuring a local football team’s return to League football has been voted the best front page of 2014 by HTFP readers.

The Luton News celebrated Luton Town’s promotion from the Vanarama Conference to League Two in May with a front page headlined ‘Fantastic!’

It received 24pc of the votes in our annual poll, ahead of 17pc for another football-related front page in the shape of the Newcastle Chronicle’s ‘P45DUE’ splash about manager Alan Pardew.

In third place was the Eastern Daily Press with it’s front page for the 70th anniversary of D-Day headlined ‘Longest Day’s Lasting Legacy.’

More than 1,000 people took part in the online poll which ran from Friday 19 December until noon today.
