A weekly newspaper reporter has beaten hundreds of applicants to win a six-month internship in the South of France.

Rachel Arthur, left, has spent the last three years working for Wiltshire Publications, which publishes the White Horse News, Frome Times and Melksham Independent News, but has now begun an internship with William Reed Business Media.

It will see her working in the South of France on four websites, FoodProductionDaily.com, BeverageDaily.com, FoodQualityNews.com and DairyReporter.com, where she will write business news about the food industry.

In the role, Rachel, 26, will cover industry news such as food hygiene and safety, packaging and food recalls, while also driving all social media for the websites on Twitter, Facebook and Linked In.

She said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to move into a career in B2B journalism, and gain experience across four well-respected titles.

“I am looking forward to developing my skills in online journalism, and working with a team of multimedia professionals who have a great knowledge of the industry.”
