Spin doctors to be briefed on ‘power of local media’

The Newspaper Society is to brief government communications teams on the power of local media at a special event next week.

The industry body  is holding an ‘Introduction to local media’ on Tuesday at which NS head of marketing Justin Fenton will give updates on the latest developments in the industry and insights from a research project which highlighted the influence of local press advertising on consumer behaivour.

David Rose, head of communication, Government Communication Service  said: “The Government Communications Plan 2014/15 published by Government Communication Service GCS yesterday recognises the importance of local media to effective communications programmes.

“GCS are delighted that The Newspaper Society will be joining us as speakers at one of the our regular events for communications professionals and look forward to hearing about the latest information, developments and innovations in the industry from Justin.”
