A weekly sports reporter has been snapped up by one of the biggest media organisations in the country.

Twenty-two-year-old Sahil Jaidka, who has been working for the Dumbarton & Vale of Leven Reporter for the last four years, has now landed a job with Sky Sports News.

Sahil will be working as a producer on the Sky News sports bulletins – and it could not have come at a better time with football transfer activity expected to keep supporters glued to their TV sets over the coming weeks.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed working at the Reporter and it was a very tough decision to leave,” Sahil told the paper.

“However, the opportunity that presented itself to me at Sky News was one that I could not pass up.

“My new challenge is certainly going to be different, but it is something I will learn from and I am really looking forward to it.”
