Publishers appoint digital media team head

A leading regional publishing group is bringing in a key player to drive its digital revolution forward.

Newsquest has appointed Simon Hill to lead the digital media teams through the next phase of the company’s product development.

Simon, responsible for all digital product development across Haymarket’s UK titles for the last four years, joins Newsquest as digital platforms director.

Newsquest is one of the UK’s largest regional media groups with more than 150 brands across the UK publishing print, online and mobile and in print. It has 6.5 million readers a week in print and boasts almost 18 million visitors a month online.

Simon, with Haymarket for 12 years and currently leads a 45-strong development team, said: “I’m delighted to be joining Newsquest at a time of such opportunity. It’s a company that’s clearly got real digital ambition.”
