Deputy editor quits journalism after 18 years for PR role

A deputy editor at a regional business magazine is leaving journalism after 18 years to move into PR.

Ben Pindar will leave his role at the Yorkshire Business Insider to become a communications director at PR agency Northern Lights.

He has worked as deputy editor of the business magazine for three years and before then worked as a senior production editor with Northcliffe Media, working on titles including the Hull Daily Mail and Grimsby Telegraph.

During his 18 years in the industry, Ben has also spent time working at the Press Association, Teletext and the Cambridge News.

He tweeted this week: “Last week with Insider before I put 18 years of journalism to good use and join Northern Lights PR. Wish me luck!”

Northern Lights PR is based in Harrogate and was founded in 1989.
