Archant London news chief joins NCTJ board

The editorial director of Archant London has joined the board ot the National Council for the Training of Journalists.

Laura Adams, pictured, trained at Cardiff School of Journalism and has been a journalist for the past 12 years.

She has been editorial director for Archant London since April 2013 and before this was digital editorial director for Archant London newspapers and its London24 website.

Said Laura: “I am delighted to be nominated to join the NCTJ board – I am hugely passionate about the development of aspiring journalists and look forward to making a valuable contribution towards their training through my involvement with the NCTJ.”

Laura first joined Archant in 2008 as deputy editor of the Ham&High and became editor of the Barking and Dagenham Post in 2010.

Her first job in 2002 was as a trainee reporter at the Rhondda Leader followed by a stint as a reporter/office number two at the Pontypridd Observer – both part of Trinity Mirror’s Media Wales stable.

In 2005, she joined Northcliffe as deputy news editor for Essex Chronicle and was promoted to news editor in 2006.
