Trinity ad agency to represent Local World weekly

An advertising sales agency set up by Trinity Mirror is to represent one of the country’s biggest free newspapers from January.

The Local World owned Nottingham & Long Eaton Topper, which has a distribution in excess of 200,000, will be represented by TM’s National Advertising Sales Agency (Nasa.)

Nasa already handles national ad sales for LW sister title the Nottingham Post and the deal now enables the agency to offer national advertisers both a six-day-a-week platform in the Post coupled with the mass penetration of the Topper.

Its managing director of regionals Gary McNish said: “Nottingham is a great city and having the ability to offer national clients one of the country’s leading daily regionals and a really great free newspaper, is a great benefit to us and advertisers alike. We’re really looking forward to working on this excellent title.”

Steve Hollingsworth, managing director and publisher at the Post added: “We’ve worked with Nasa for a while now and we’ve been impressed at the way they’ve approached our business. We feel The Topper is an excellent product and that nasa can now take it on to the next level in national terms.”
