Skills conference heads for South Coast resort

The year’s biggest journalism training gathering is to take place in Bournemouth in November, it was announced yesterday.

The Journalism Skills Conference, organised by the National Council for the Training of Journalists, will be held at Bournemouth University from 27-28 November.

Now in its sixth year, the conference is an opportunity to debate the latest training issues across all media sectors.

It also aims to celebrate the achievements of those involved in journalism education and training.

This year’s event will kick off on Wednesday 27 November with a dinner and awards ceremony at The Print Room, the former home of the Bournemouth Echo printing presses.

Bournemouth was the first university to have an undergraduate journalism programme accredited by the NCTJ in 1995.
