Six sports journalists have been shortlisted for the top regional prize in this year’s Sports Journalism Awards.

The annual awards will be handed out at a gala dinner on Monday 25 March at the Grand Connaught Rooms in central London.

In the running for the Regional Sportswriter of the year prize are Amanda Little of Cumbrian Newspapers, Chris Wathan (Media Wales), Jon Colman (Cumbrian Newspapers), Matthew Beard (Evening Standard), Paul Ferguson (Sunday Life) and Simon Walter (Southern Daily Echo).
