Newspaper-owned radio station boosts listeners

The number of people listening to Kent radio station kmfm has increased by 15,000 over the last six months and has now topped 163,000 people each week, according to official figures

Industry body Rajar also says kmfm Breakfast, hosted by Rob Wills and Emma Saint, has added 10,000 listeners in its time slot since launching last September,

The station is owned by the KM Group which also publishes the Kent Messenger, with its journalists providing news content for the station.

Managing director Richard Elliot said: “We have made a number of big changes to kmfm recently, and we are absolutely delighted that they seem to have gone down so well with listeners.”
