Weekly targets expats with launch of digital edition

A weekly paper has launched a new online edition which is aimed at expats from the county.

The Cornishman has launched its digital page turner which carries the same £1 cover price as the paper, although there are discounts for longer-term subscriptions.

The digital version is viewable on a PC, laptop or tablet device and will contain the same mix of news, sport, entertainment, property, motors and classifieds as the paper.

It has been launched to appeal to Cornish expats who want to keep up with the news in their former community.

Editor Jacqui Walls said: “Cornwall has a huge diaspora, with more Cornish people living in Australia than currently live in the county itself.

“Taking this into account, plus the prohibitive cost of postage for some of our readers who live outside the area, encouraged us to start looking at ways in which we could get the paper to them.

“Launching just before Christmas, we hope a subscription to the new online edition might also make an ideal present for readers with friends and family living away from Cornwall.”

Any readers who sign up for a subscription of 24 weeks or more during December will be entered into a prize draw to win an iPad.
