The Yorkshire Post, Liverpool Echo and Ipswich Star were among the winners at last night’s Newspaper Awards, designed to reward excellence in news media production.
The Star was named Regional Newspaper of the Year for titles under 25,000 circulation while the YP won the regional Weekend Newspaper of the Year prize.
Meanwhile the Echo’s Best of Liverpool supplement was named Colour Supplement of the Year, overcoming opposition from the Sunday Times, Sunday Mirror and Daily Telegraph among others.
And the Irish News added to its growing collection of awards by being named Regional Newspaper of the Year (over 25,000 circulation) and also taking the Fujifilm Grand Prix for the ‘Best of the Best.’
