Regional publisher closes North West magazine offices

Magazine publisher Archant Life is moving production of its Lancashire Life magazine from Preston to a new regional headquarters.

Leading titles such as Lancashire Life, Cheshire Life and Living Edge, along with the company’s weddings business, and several other niche publications, will move from existing offices in Preston and Hale to new premises near Warrington.

Although it will result in the closure of the two Lancashire offices, the company says no jobs will be lost.

Lancashire Life has around 25 staff based in Preston but it is understood the building was too big for its needs as many of them now work from home.

Archant Life MD, Tim Thurston, said: “We believe that moving to a single well-connected office close to the Lancashire and Cheshire border is the best way to serve our customers, enhance teamwork and provide easily-accessible premises for our employees. It will also allow us to continue to drive the development of our long-established market-leading brands.

“Many Archant Life journalists and sales staff are already home-based, working in the communities they serve, benefitting from the flexibility of a modern way of working with access to office facilities when needed.”
