The deadline for entries to an award scheme which aims to recognise the best journalism students and trainees has been extended by two weeks.
The Awards for Excellence, which are held by the National Council for the Training of Journalists, are open to journalism students on accredited courses and reporters and photographers with less than two years’ experience.
Six categories are open for entries – news journalism, sports journalism, top scoop/exclusive, features of the year, images of the year and student publication of the year.
The deadline is now 28 September and the winners will be presented at the NCTJ’s Journalism Skills Conference in November.
