Bright move for oldest journalism college

A senior political journalist has been made a visiting professor of journalism at Britain’a oldest journalism school.

Martin Bright, former political editor of the New Statesman and now performing the same role at the Jewish Chronicle, is to be a visiting professor at Harlow College.

He says his first move will be to invite Piers Morgan and other alumni of the college to discuss to deliver a series of lectures on the impact of the Leveson Inquiry.

Said Martin:  “It is a great honour to take up this position at Harlow, which has a long tradition of training some of the best journalists in the country.

“I will begin by inviting Harlow College’s stellar alumni – including Alan Rusbridger, Jeremy Clarkson, Piers Morgan and Richard Madeley – to contribute to a series of lectures on the future of journalism in the wake of the Leveson Inquiry.

“I would like University Centre Harlow to be at the heart of the discussion about journalism in the 21st century and I’m sure its alumni will want to take up the challenge of contributing to this debate.”

Perhaps Piers will be offering useful tips on share-dealing. What a shining example for would-be journalists to emulate!
