Shortlist for NCTJ excellence awards is published

Trainee reporters and students in with a chance of winning this year’s National Council for the Training of Journalists’ Awards for Excellence have been revealed.

The training body holds the annual awards to recognise the best student and trainee journalists across the country.

The list of nominations includes 14 students on NCTJ accredited courses and 12 trainee reporters working towards the NCE.

Judging in each of the four categories is already under way and winners will be announced at the Society of Editors conference in Egham on 14 November

The categories are news journalism, sports journalism, top scoop/exclusive, and feature of the year.
