The judging panel for this year’s EDF Energy Regional Media Awards for the East of England has been announced.

Judging will take place this Friday at the Brighton offices of The Argus and the line up includes two daily and three weekly newspaper editors, and two experienced broadcasters.

Argus editor Michael Beard will be joined on the panel by fellow editors Ian Murray, of the Southern Daily Echo, Leo Whitlock, of the Kentish Gazette, Hannah Walker, of the South London Press, and Richard Osley, of the Camden New Journal.

The panel also includes award-winning Argus chief photographer Simon Dack, broadcasters Charlotte Wilkins and Mark Carter, and EDF Energy regional media manager Dan Pritchard.

Assisting the panel will be HoldtheFrontPage publisher Paul Linford who will be providing industry information for the panel and support on the website category judging.

More than 200 entries were received for this year’s awards, run by EDF Energy in association with HoldtheFrontPage.

Now in their seventh year, they cover Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

The shortlist is expected to be announced before Christmas, with the ceremony due to be held next year.
