College’s gold standard journalism training recognised

A college in Scotland has earned accreditation from the National Council for the Training of Journalists for two of its courses.

The HND Practical Journalism course and the Diploma Journalism Day Release course at Adam Smith College in Fife have been accredited by the NCTJ’s board of directors.

The HND course has been running for three years prior to achieving NCTJ-accreditation, while the Diploma Journalism Day Release is a new course.

A spokesman for the training provider said: “The course leaders have demonstrated a commitment to providing the gold standard qualification and delivering high-quality journalism training to students who have the talent and dedication to succeed in their journalism careers.

“The NCTJ accreditation panel was very impressed with the team’s dedication and understanding of what is required on an NCTJ-accredited course.”

Both courses have been granted accreditation for one year.
