A regional daily is hoping to score a print and online double at a forthcoming awards ceremony after being shortlisted in both the newspaper and website categories.
The Lancashire Telegraph has been nominated for the Newspaper of the Year title at the How Do awards while its companion website lancashiretelegraph.co.uk is in the running for website of the year.
The awards, which cover the whole of the North-West region from Cheshire to Cumbria, will be presented at Lancashire County Cricket Club, on the evening of Thursday 26 May.
TV presenter Jim Hancock will be the compere for the event, which is held in association with MediaCityUK.
Said a How Do spokesman: “With the economy still facing significant headwinds and despite a number of regional and national media and creative initiatives being scaled back, we are delighted to report that the How-Do Awards 2011 have attracted a record number of entries from companies across the North West.
“To the many companies who invested substantial time and energy into submitting entries but have proved unsuccessful in being short listed, we thank you for your efforts.”
